Act I  ·  The Origin

Began in Surrey, BC.

A small atelier, a single bench, and a question — what if gold looked like a million bucks and didn't cost it?

Subachi Shri began in 2019 in a small studio in Surrey, BC, with a single bench, a small kiln, and a question: what if gold looked like a million bucks and didn't cost it? The pieces that came out of that studio were the same pieces brides kept asking for — the rani haars they remembered from family photographs, the jhumkas they couldn't find in stores, the sets that felt like a memory before they were even worn.

Every piece in the atelier is still hand-finished in gold forming — a technique that gives the warmth and weight of solid gold, without the price tag or the green ears. Hypoallergenic, made for sensitive skin, made to wear through the wedding, the pregnancy, the decades after. We ship worldwide from the same Surrey bench where it all started.

The film is bigger than the atelier now — over 500 brides, a journal, a custom order book — but the through-line is the same. Jewellery should look like a million bucks. It should not cost it. Every piece that leaves this studio is a small act of faith in that line.

Jewellery should look like a million bucks.
It should not cost it.
